The Mobil Rarus™ 400 Series consists of premium performance ashless air compressor oils designed to meet the stringent requirements of leading compressor manufacturers. It is formulated with high quality mineral base oils and a high performance additive system developed to provide superior equipment protection and reliability for compressors operated in mild to harsh conditions. These oils provide excellent protection against wear and reduce maintenance costs by reducing equipment problems and minimizing deposit build-up and carryover. Thanks to their high FZG Ratings, Mobil Rarus 400 Series are excellent oils for compressor systems with gears and bearings, making them excellent choices as crankcase and cylinder oils.

Usage places:
Mobil Rarus 400 Series oils are recommended for single and multistage air compressors. It is especially effective in continuous high temperature operations. The maximum compressed air temperature according to DIN 51506 is 220 °C. They are suitable for use in Rotary compressors and reciprocating compressors, which generally use low viscosity oil. Rarus 400 Series oils are recommended for units with a history of excessive oil degradation, poor valve performance or deposit formation. All metals used in compressor construction and are compatible with mineral-oil compatible elastomers used in gaskets, O-rings and packings.
Mobil Rarus 400 Series oils are not recommended for air compressors for compressed air breathing applications.
